Portugal - Loulé

Loulé is a more traditional Portugese town, with narrow, winding streets and little of the new construction we saw in the Villamora marina or in Albufeira.

The Loulé tower greets you as you come into town.

We found a place to park just around the corner from the town well.

Babelfish translates this sign as
Portugese: ATENÇÃO É PROIBIDA A LAVAGEM DE VIATURAS OU QUALQUER OUTRO TIPO DE OBJECTO
English: ATTENTION IS FORBIDDEN to the LAUDERING OF VIATURAS OR ANY ANOTHER TYPE OF OBJECT
or, roughly, Warning: It is forbidden to wash automobiles or anything else.

Don took us to a ceramics shop that is a favorite of his and Kay's - Casa Louart.

While we were in the shop, the potter hand decorated some of her work.

These sunflower plates were in Casa Louart.

Saturday was market day. I think the ducklings didn't care for the attention they were getting from these two children.

Here on the walls and on the town well were gang symbols. We had seen them in Spain as well but not paid much attention. When we returned from Portugal Saturday night, though, we found that Aaron had visited the beach in Puerto that Dick had visited Friday and had been robbed by a gang with a motorbike.
